Full review coming soon!

This is a review of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones film soundtrack by various artists.

01 Into the Lair - Zedd

This track seems techno-inspired and provides a feeling of suspense; however, it doesn't feel like a special song. Its sound seems a little too aggressive, even though it's intended for an action-packed film. Some may find it catchy, but the track doesn't stand out.

02 Almost is Never Enough (Soundtrack Version) - Ariana Grande & Nathan Sykes

This song describes almos The piano and finger snaps along with Grande's smooth and emotion-filled vocals and both singer's runs give the song a soul/R&B feel. The song is sad and both artists have strong vocal talents, but their constant runs seem overdone and take away from the emotion of the song. Overall, it's a good song and fits with the plot of City of Bones, but would be more effective had the vocals been a little simpler.

03 17 Crimes (LA Riots Remix) - AFI

The vocals are solid, and the lyrics fit fairly well. However, the unremixed version not on the soundtrack may have been a better fit because of its strong rock feel. The remixed version is well done, but the remixing takes away from the feeling that the original song created.

04 Heart by Heart - Demi Lovato

This track is haunting yet positive and pulls in the listener. It's about falling in love with someone that knows you well and not letting him/her go. The song fits very well when the protagonists are discovering their love for each other. Lovato's strong vocals are simple but still show off her vocal capablitities and are effective in creating the song's mood. The piano at the beginning is replaced by electric guitars, which make it anthem-like.  The song is one of the better ones on The Mortal Instruments soundtrack.

05 Bring Me Home - Youngblood Hawke

06 When the Darkness Comes - Colbie Caillat

07 Strangers (feat. Tove Lo) - Seven Lions & Shane 54

08 Magnetic - Jessie J

09 Bear - Pacific Air

10 All About Us (feat. Owl City) - He is We

11 Calling from Above (Edit) - Bassnectar

12 Start a Riot - Jetta

13 Strange Days - Bryan Ellis
